"A beautiful mountain bike tour on Gerlitzen Alpe starts from Feuerberg above along the Schönfeld settlement up to Kanzelhöhe. Passing by the adventure arena and the Pöllingerhütte, it goes uphill to the summit at 1,911 meters above sea level. From there, you have a breathtaking panoramic view of Carinthia's mountain-lake landscape.

In Ossiach (approximately 30 minutes by car), fantastic mountain bike trails and tours await for all difficulty levels. Fun for the whole family! Additionally, you can improve your riding skills on various practice trails at the Mountainbike Skill Center "areaone" at Kumitzberg in Villach.

The "PROlitzen Trail" on Gerlitzen Alpe

NEW on Gerlitzen: Not for beginners, and not for advanced riders either! The probably steepest trail in the region - and when we say steep, we mean really steep! We earnestly request that only absolute experts ride this trail. Once on the trail, you are committed to a mostly very difficult route: there is only one way out! Beginners and intermediate mountain bikers will not have fun on this trail. Long jumps, drops, steep banked turns, and steep sections make this trail what it is: a track for true mountain bike enthusiasts and technically skilled riders.

Rental locations in Carinthia

The nearest rental locations are in the valley, just 13 km away from the hotel. Camping Blasge in Bodensdorf offers bicycle and mountain bike rentals. There is also a new Carinthia-wide bike rental system that allows you to rent a bike and later return it to one of the approximately 50 rental stations throughout Carinthia. You can easily rent your bike online on the "Kärnten rent e-Bike" website and pick it up at the Bodensdorf or Sattendorf tourist office.

For leisure cyclists and families, we recommend the Ossiacher See Cycle Path, which has little traffic and few inclines. The approximately 28 km long cycle path around Lake Ossiach passes right by the beautiful Ossiach Abbey. You can also conveniently cover parts of the route with the Ossiacher See Shipping. Entry points can be found all around the lake.

Drau Cycle Path

The Drau Cycle Path is one of the most beautiful cycling routes in Austria. Starting from the source of the Drau River in Toblach field, Italy, the 366 km long Drau Cycle Path follows the river's course through East Tyrol and Carinthia until reaching Maribor in Slovenia. Along the route, there are numerous attractions and places to stop and rest.

The Ciclovia Alpe-Adria cycle path from Salzburg to the Italian coastal town of Grado is a highlight for all cyclists. To Italy for lunch! The free cycle bus of the Region Villach ErlebnisCARD takes you to Tarvisio for a pizza and then you can cycle back to Villach. The extremely attractive route can easily be covered in one day.
