On this evening you will be accompanied by the wonderful musical sounds of two special musicians. “Lasciatemi cantare / Let me sing”, stands for the singing solo guitar in the hands of Janez Gregorič as well as for the songs performed by tenor David Hojsak with guitar accompaniment. The musicians span a wide musical spectrum from art songs and folk songs to pop hits.
As a versatile guitarist and sensitive chamber musician, Janez Gregorič is looking forward to this first collaboration with the young and promising singer David Hojsak.
Janez Gregoric studied guitar at the University of Music in Graz with Prof. Martin Mysliveček, where he graduated with distinction in 1994. In 1995, the Federal Ministry of Art granted him a working scholarship to study the “Carlevaro School” (Berlin) and the F.M. Alexander Technique (Vienna). From 1998 to 2001 he studied with Maestro Abel Carlevaro in Montevideo (Uruguay).
He performs as a soloist and chamber musician in many European countries and can look back on a lively musical collaboration. He is the founder and artistic director of the “International Chamber Music Workshop SONUS”, the new concert series “Sonusiade” and initiator of the interdisciplinary event “TRIVIUM | tri poti | drei wege”.
As the author of the new guitar school “Agent Claro”, he continues the didactic path of his teacher Abel Carlevaro as a successful teacher and has several CDs to his name as a guitarist and composer. In 2023, he was awarded the Carinthian Appreciation Prize for his versatile musical work as a guitarist, composer and instrumental teacher.
David Hojsak accompanies as a tenor with his unmistakable voice. He began his artistic career at the age of 8 with the musical instrument guitar. In addition to singing, acting is also a great passion, which David Hojsak has already been able to combine perfectly in leading roles in musicals such as “Phantom of the Opera” as Raoul or in the musical “Sissi” as Emperor Franz Joseph.
