Hiking holiday in Carinthia

The high-altitude circular trail "Dream Arch" is one of the most beautiful panoramic paths in Carinthia. At 1,750 meters, it leads around the Gerlitzen Alpe, offering a 360° panorama of extraordinary class. Additionally, a new circular trail with descriptions of the wonderful Carinthian panorama has been created at the summit.

Starting from Feuerberg, the trail leads across the Asian Garden to the Pöllinger and Kammerhütte. A short detour takes you down to the picturesque Thurner Hütte. The return journey takes us along the Berger Hüttenweg back to Feuerberg. The more adventurous hikers may stop for a break at the Seppl-Hütte along the way. If it takes a little longer, Sepp, the hut host, will bring our guests back to Feuerberg by car.

Along the Path of Philosophers, we enter the forest of Count Lodron. We traverse extensive mountain forests along forest paths, enjoying the heavenly tranquility away from the beaten trails. At the Water Adventure World "Neugarten," we encounter bubbling streams, water wheels, and a large bathing pond. Next to it is Hans Maier's cozy alpine hut, where he offers delicacies from his own agriculture. From here, the Water Adventure Trail leads to the mysterious Neugarten power sources, which, according to ancient legend, spring from seemingly endless depths.

An easy hike for the whole family with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and Lake Ossiach. Enjoy the variety of experiences at Kanzelhöhe (forest high ropes course, tubing, and more). For the return journey, you can use the cable car, which is included in the Kärnten Card.

One of the most beautiful hikes on Gerlitzen Alpe. The hike leads over the southwestern part of the "Traumbogen" (Dream Arch) to Stifter Boden, an old mountain settlement on the west side of Gerlitzen Alpe at 1,600 meters above sea level. Then it continues over the mountain ridge through alpine clearings with enchanting vegetation to the "Steinerner Tisch" (Stone Table), an old resting place for hunters and dairy farmers. Just below: The excellently managed Steinwender Hütte (mountain hut). The return journey takes us via the middle station of the cable cars. Those who want to shorten the way back can take the cable car to the summit and then stroll comfortably back to the resort. Alternatively, we can hike back via the Berger Hüttenweg to Feuerberg.

The Alpe-Adria-Trail connects the three regions of Carinthia, Slovenia, and Friuli Venezia Giulia with a total of 38 stages. This long-distance hiking trail leads from the base of Großglockner, the highest mountain in Austria, through the most beautiful mountain and lake areas in Carinthia. Passing the intersection point of the three countries Austria, Italy, and Slovenia, the trail continues all the way to Trieste on the upper Adriatic. The trail passes by the Mountain Resort Feuerberg, and hikers can directly access the Alpe-Adria-Trail from there.
